Tien Kok Sie Temple, the oldest place of worship for Tri Dharma (Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism) in Solo, was established in 1745. According to the Chairman of the Tien Kok Sie Foundation, Sumantri Dana Waluya, the temple was built by merchants passing through Solo and also served as a social gathering place. Located south of Pasar Gede in Sudiroprajan, Jebres, the temple is surrounded by shops and markets, with the land granted by the Kasunanan Surakarta Palace.
